Carol Rose Quarter Horses is home to Shining Spark, Shiners Lena Doc and A Shiner Named Sioux. These three American Quarter Horse Stallions have been successful in the show arena and also in the breeding barn. Carol Rose is also the American Quarter Horse Association’s (AQHA) All Time Leading Breeder of Performance Horses. Carol is also a perennial top National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) and National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) breeder.  Carol Rose has bred AQHA horses and the resulting performance horses have earned more than 28,900 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) points, averaging 69 AQHA points per foal and 94 AQHA points per point-earner, including 49 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) World and Reserve World Championships, 13 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) National All-Around titles, and earners of more than $3,400,000. In the National Cutting Horse Association (NCHA) Carol Rose had breed AQHA horses with earnings of over $1,000,000. In the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Carol Rose has breed AQHA horses with earnings of over $580,000. In the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Carol Rose has breed AQHA horses with earnings of over $700,000. Carol Rose is the leader in all American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Incentive Fund categories as she leads in AQHA Incentive Fund foals bred, in AQHA Incentive Fund foals nominated and owned; total AQHA Incentive Fund money earned, and total in AQHA Incentive Fund nominated sires’ earnings.  Carol Rose owned and stood the American Quarter Horse Association’s (AQHA) #1 Leading Sire of AQHA World Champion Performance Horses, Zan Parr Bar. Carol Rose has also been the leading breeder or owner at the American Quarter Horse Association’s (AQHA) World Show five times.  Foals bred by Carol Rose have earned more than 290 American Quarter Horse Association Register of Merit (AQHA ROM) awards, as well as 184 American Quarter Horse Association Superior Awards in halter, cutting, calf roping, heading, heeling, reining, western riding, trail, western pleasure, barrel racing and working cowhorse, and more than 530 American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) All-Around Awards.

Jay McLaughlin is the Head Trainer at Carol Rose Ranch and he has had a very successful career showing Reined Cow Horses and Reining Horses prior to coming to work at Carol Rose Quarter Horses.  Jay McLaughlin continues to dominate in the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) and in the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) horse shows. Jay is a versatile rider and with great horses to ride Jay McLaughlin is excited about the upcoming futurities and derbies in both the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) and the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA). In 2009 Jay McLaughlin took A Shiner Named Sioux to the Open finals at both the National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) and the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) futurities. He was also 2009 National Reined Cow Horse Association (NRCHA) Open Bridle World Champion on a Shining Spark daughter, Lil Miss Shiney Chex.
